Tour Groups

Milang Railway Museum Tour Group Information

Milang is located in the Eastern Fleurieu Peninsula and is an hour’s drive from the Adelaide CBD. The Museum caters for visiting groups of up to fifty and offers the following options:

  • Home cooked, two course lunches for up to forty at $17 a head. Weekdays only. See details below.
  • Devonshire Teas for up to fifty from $6 a head on any day.
  • Refreshments and light lunches on weekends. See menu here

All of these include a tour of the museum and craft shop and a train ride. These are all free but donations are welcome. The museum is a charity and is run by volunteers. 

Free Historic Town Tour

If you are arriving by coach our guide can board and take you on a twenty minute tour of the historic sites in Milang. 

Free Museum Tour

Your group will be free to tour the railway museum with a guide available to answer questions. They will be able to “drive” diesel and steam locomotives using our simulators. 

Craft Shop 

The Milang Community Craft Shop is on site and can be opened for your group. They stock a wide variety of local produce and crafts plus books, puzzles, etc. 

Free Train Rides

We operate a short narrow gauge railway which is available to visitors. 

Catering Options

We have a fully equipped cafeteria car and kitchen operated by our local volunteers. We can offer:

Two courses with Tea/Coffee are $17.00 per person.

This menu has been prepared with Senior Citizens and Pensioners in mind. Please send us your order list at least three working days before the lunch. Many groups just specify half beef and half chicken and this seems to work out well. Water and bread and butter is included and soft drinks are available at $3 a can. The numbers for lunch may be limited by the COVID rules of the time. 

Contact and Mobility Information
